The condition on both sides of the road is also a potential threat for motorists especially at night.

Othman Khamis, 50, a motorist said the problem had started more than four years ago as the road upgrading project costing about RM18 million was not done properly.

"The upgrading of the road which connects the Kesang Tasek padi fields to Sungai Rambai started in 2004," Othman said.

"Students from secondary schools have to use this road to get to their respective schools," he said, adding that big lorries also ply the road.

Tan Kim Swee, 45, a motorist from Sungai Rambai, said a project that costs millions of ringgit was not supposed to be like this.

"I hope the Public Works Department will look into the matter before a mishap occurs."

He urged the relevant authorities to look into the matter immediately to prevent the road condition from worsening.
