Checks showed that the ceiling was only inches off the floor and the room was usually drenched during heavy rain.
The village security and development committee secretary Ismail Mat Syoti, 55, said many functions had to be postponed due to the failing structure.
He said the building was built in 1999 and he feared that something untoward might happen due to the ceiling's condition. Even the roof was damaged due to heavy rain.
"The villagers are hoping that the building would be repaired as soon as possible. If not, it would be difficult to organise any functions."
Among the activities usually held there are silat training, sewing and tuition classes.
