LEDANG: The Gambir state assembly handed out RM100,000 in aid to non-governmental organisations (NGO), including mosques, surau, other places of worship and schools in areas under its jurisdiction last year.
The State Unity, Human Resources, Science, Technology and Innovation
Committee chairman M. Asojan said the amount was given out to help NGOs
pay for their programmes.
Asojan, who is also the Gambir state assemblyman, said it was hoped
that the aid was used to benefit NGO members and local folk through the
various programmes planned.
"Although the amount given was small, we hope that it has helped the NGOs," he said.
"We are grateful to the state government for giving aid to the people living in the Gambir area."
He said the government had provided different forms assistance to the people.
