TANGKAK: Barisan Nasional leaders at all levels in Johor
have been urged to identify the needs of the voters in the respective
areas at all times.
Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said
they should also identify those needy, sick and old people who might
need assistance or aid.
He said it was vital for Barisan leaders at the divisions and branches to be close to the people and know their needs.
“We want Barisan component party leaders at the divisions and branches to know the voters in their areas.
“We
want them to go down to the people as often as possible,” he said after
having breakfast with Sungai Mati residents at Warong Kahar here
recently.
Abdul Ghani, who was accompanied by Ledang MP Hamim
Samuri and Ledang district officer Mohd Han Ramin, said such
people-oriented approach was vital to regain their confidence.
He
said the leaders should also make efforts to know the development needs
of the people and submit their needs to relevant authorities. He said
the state government would always try to accommodate their requests and
would provide the necessary allocation.
Later, Abdul Ghani
attended a briefing at the Serom constituency MCA election operation
centre given by its director Queck Chin Seng in Sungai Mati.
He
said the briefing was about preparation by MCA in the constituency for
the coming general election, including the number of new voters in the
area.
“I am satisfied with their preparation and hopefully
Barisan will not only retain the Serom state seat, it will win with a
bigger majority,” said Abdul Ghani who is also Serom assemblyman.
