Ledang district police chief Superintendent Harun Idris said the seven were detained after a motorcycle was reported missing earlier in the week.

Following a public tip-off, all were arrested the same day.

Harun said one was arrested in Kampung Parit Kasan, Bukit Gambar and the rest at Kampung Serom, Sungai Mati an hour later.

He said all of the arrested aged between 19 and 24.

It is believed they targeted motorcycles in parking lot and the parts were stripped for sale.

"Some are unemployed or odd-job workers," said Harun.
