By Hai Rozzaman Jalal

LEDANG: The district religious education office, here, recently launched a campaign to collect funds for Aman Palestin Johor to help Palestinians in Gaza.

Officer Khalid Ithnin said the funds were collected at 39 religious schools in Ledang, with teachers, pupils and parents making contributions.

"As Muslims, we are saddened by the suffering endured by the Palestinians as they are ill-treated by the Zionist regime," he said.

Khalid said it had taught them the value of peace and stability in the country.

"We hope our contribution would be helpful to them. The fund was launched so that those who would like to make donation could do so through a proper channel," he said.

Khalid said a total of RM4,511.75 was collected. Khalid handed the money to Aman Palestin Johor representative Nurul Ahmady Abd Rahman at the launch of the Ledang District Nadi Al Ansor club at Dewan Terbuka Sekolah Agama Bukit Gambir.

It was witnessed by Serom state assemblyman Abd Razak Minhat.
