M. Jegathosan and S. Selvakumaran, both 26, who served in Terengganu and Kelantan respectively, had arrived here for the celebrations and met some friends at 10pm.
On their way back, their car skidded not far from SM Tun Mamat near the town before hitting a tree and a signpost. They suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.
In another accident, a mother, her four-year-old son and five-year-old daughter were killed when their car collided with an express bus near Kebun Baru along the Tangkak-Segamat road.
Police are withholding their names until the woman’s husband, who works in Endau, is notified.
