TEEN DIES OF HEART ATTACK JUST BEFORE SITTING FOR SPM PAPER

TANGKAK: A Form Five student of SMK Ledang here died before he could sit for his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

Hazizul Hasah, 17, (pic) from Kampung Sri Makmor, collapsed at his school yesterday, believed to be from a heart attack just before he was due to sit for his first paper in the SPM at about 8am.

Muar Ledang Education Department deputy chief Jamal Abdullah said Hazizul had been suffering from a heart problem.

He said the school had acted fast and called for an ambulance when Hazizul seemed weak and complained of breathing difficulties.

However, medical officers who arrived in an ambulance pronounced him dead at the scene.

The school then informed the teenager’s parents, he said.

Hazizul’s father Hasah Eunos, 56, said he sent his son to school at about 6.30am and noted that his son had been coughing badly for the past few days.

He said Hazizul, the only boy in a family of four children, had been suffering from a heart problem since small.

Hasah said the family, especially his wife Wagisah Marzuki, 46, regarded Hazizul’s death as fated.

Meanwhile, Bernama quoted Johor Education Director Markom Giran as saying that another SPM candidate, Mohd Fazli Yusop, also 17, of SMK Belitong near Kluang died at 4pm on Monday after undergoing dialysis at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baru.
