LEDANG: The media in Johor has been urged to adopt and optimise the latest information and communications technologies (ICT) to better relay Government policies to the people.

Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said in today’s ICT era the people had various sources for information and the media should attract readers to read their material.

Speaking to residents in Bukit Gambir he said it would be useless for Government departments to organise programmes if the contents and policies did not reach the people.

“We need to adopt the latest technology and utilise them to ensure all information and policies reach the people fast.

“All Government policies must reach the people at all levels, irrespective of race and religions,” he said in a speech read by Johor Youth and Sports Committee chairman Md. Jais Sarday.

Jais said when the information reached the people, they would know what the Government was doing.

He said well-informed people would also be able to evaluate the Governments efforts in bringing development and growth to the nation.

Abdul Ghani also hoped the Semarak Johor programme held in Bukit Gambir this year would benefit the residents in the constituency.

“With better understanding between the people and the Government, we will continue to have a stable Government and will be able to be a developed nation in 2020,” he added.
