EACH of the 56 state constituencies will soon have a Quran interpreter to help Muslims better understand the Holy Book.
Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said the new appointments were approved by the state assembly recently.
The interpreters will join the state Religious Department.
The experts will assist Muslims to grasp the actual interpretations and know the true meanings of the Arabic words.
"Every Muslim can read and recite the Koran fluently, but very few understand it properly.
"So they have lost the intrinsic value of the Koran," he said at the opening of the Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Gambir Parent-Teacher Association annual meeting at Bukit Gambir, Ledang.
