11 TAMIL SCHOOLS GET RM235,000 FOR UPGRADE

A TOTAL of RM235,000 will be channelled to 11 Tamil vernacular schools in Muar and Ledang in a bid to raise their standard of teaching facilities and management of the schools.

State Unity, Human Resources, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee chairman, M. Asojan, said Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Tangkak in Sagil, Muar, would get RM200,000 to build an extension to accommodate the student population.

When completed, the school will have another wing comprising four classrooms and an administrative office.

He said the balance of the allocation will be used to upgrade the drainage system of 10 schools in Ledang and Muar.

"The government is always taking steps to ensure that every child, regardless of whether he attends national or vernacular school, gets adequate education," he said after handing over the funds to the schools recently.
