MP: BE PROUD OF OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM

TANGKAK: Malaysian children of all races should be encouraged to know and memorise the national anthem, Negaraku, from an early age to instil the spirit of patriotism among them.

Ledang MP Hamim Samuri said the country belonged to all Malaysians and everyone should be proud of the national anthem .

“I was touched and felt very proud when I saw Year One to Year Six pupils of SJK (C) Pui Nan here stood up and proudly sang the Negaraku.

“ Their spirit of patriotism for the country can be seen from the way they sang out loudly every word of the Negaraku,” he said before presenting educational aid totalling RM210,000 to the school recently.

Hamim said besides loving the country, the children should also be taught to respect their parents, family members, elders, teachers, leaders as well as other Malaysians.

He also said no children should be deprived of their rights to education and urged teachers to be committed in imparting knowledge to ensure the children became good and educated citizens.

He said today's children could become scientists and help the nation find cheaper alternative fuel to replace petroleum and diesel, which would be more expensive in the future.
