JUITA TO SET UP 2 CHILDREN CENTRES

THE Johor Assemblymen's Wives Welfare Association (Juita) will open two children day-care centres in Johor Baru.

Juita chairman Prof Datin Dr Jamilah Ariffin said the first centre, to be set up in Jalan Petri, would be located at a renovated government quarters.

The centre, which will house about 40 children, is expected to be fully operational by the middle of the year.

The second centre, which has a similar capacity, will be opened in Gelang Patah.

Jamilah, who is also the wife of Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman, said each centre would house children selected from poor families.

Earlier, Jamilah handed out donations to flood victims in Ledang, Tangkak.

The donations were from a programme organised by Juita recently. Also present was Abdul Ghani.
