GE13: ABDUL GHANI PITCHES FOR KHALED AS NEXT JOHOR MB

TANGKAK: Incumbent Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman has thrown his support behind Pasir Gudang Barisan Nasional division chief Datuk Seri MohamedKhaledNordin to be the next Mentri Besar if Barisan retains the state.

Abdul Ghani said while it was not up to him on who would be selected as the next Menteri Besar, Khaled was an experienced politician who has enough understanding of the position.

"Yes, of course, I will support him or whoever is chosen. He is an experienced person, who has been a wakil rakyat and in the party long enough.

"He has also served in different capacities in the Government and I think he has enough understanding of the role and the responsibility of a leader at the Mentri Besar level.

"I'm sure he should be able to fulfill all those undertakings and responsibilities well," he said after attending a closed-door meeting here Thursday morning.

Khaled, who is also the caretaker Higher Education Minister, will be contesting in the Permas state seat.
