Ledang district police chief Superintendent Harun Idris (right) says police superbikers will strike fear in the hearts of criminals.

District police chief Superintendent Harun Idris said he had personally led a convoy of 20 bikes to areas such as industrial parks, housing areas and villages.

"The move will instill fear among criminals. We want the public to feel safer and closer to us," said Harun, who added that the measure was also a form of community policing.

He said his men would carry out investigations if reports were lodged.

Harun also expressed the hope that the public would abide by the law at all times.

"During one of the convoys, a man was seen riding a motorcycle with two pillion riders. That is dangerous."
