A FATHER of a police constable received more than RM30,000 in compensation after his son was killed in a road accident in October last year.

V. Motuk, 52, said the money would be used to pay for the necessities and studies of his other children.
He said his son, constable M. Jegathesan, who was attached to Marang Station in Terengganu, was killed while on his way home to celebrate Deepavali in Tangkak.
Motuk said Jegathesan, who is the eldest of three siblings, had been a policeman for about three years.
Ledang district police chief Superintendent Harun Idris presented the cheque to Motuk.
