MENTRI Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman says he is confident that Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who replaced Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as prime minister, can steer Johor's development to greater heights.
Abdul Ghani said as stipulated under the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) Act, the prime minister is co-chairman alongside the Johor mentri besar.
"Hence, I look forward to meeting and providing him with the latest update on the development of the region," he said in Muar recently.
Abdul Ghani said IRDA was working on drawing new foreign investment to the region.
He said he would visit China, Abu Dhabi and the United States in two months' time to educate investors there.
"We believe that in the current situation, international credit will flow to Iskandar Malaysia," he said.
